See what's out there after dark.
Night vision binoculars, a laser rangefinder and camp light, with the field gear to carry them.
Know the distance before you move.
The RF-800 laser rangefinder, for trails, ridges and the golf course.
Light for the whole camp.
The CL-1 pocket camp light hangs in the tent or lights the table.
One evening, in order
The light goes in stages. So does the kit.
Sunset isn't a switch. Civil twilight gives you half an hour you can still walk in; full dark comes about an hour and three quarters later, and your eyes need twenty minutes to catch up. Each piece here has its hour.

Something to see with, something to measure with, something to light the way.
No aisles. Two night vision binoculars, a rangefinder, a camp light and two pieces of field gear, each on its own page with the maker named and the numbers labelled.

Figures from the maker's sheet, read plainly.
Every spec on a product page comes from the maker's sheet, and the page says so. When we confirm a number ourselves, we mark it. Where a figure is a best case, we say what you'll actually see.
70–90 m
Recognising a fox or a deer, NV-4
Listings quote a far bigger number. That's a best case you won't see in a backyard; in full darkness this is the honest figure.
±1 m
RF-800 accuracy
To the maker's full range on a large, reflective target. A hillside reads shorter, a flagstick much shorter.
2700–6900 K
CL-1, warm to cool
Candle-warm for the tent, daylight-white for finding the keys. One dial, the level on a small display.
20–30 min
Your eyes, adapting to the dark
How long full night vision takes to arrive. Keep any lamp low and warm, and don't look straight at a bright one.
Through the NV-4
What 850 nm looks like.
The NV-4 lights the scene with infrared, a colour your eye can't see, and shows it in black and white on a 4-inch screen. Expect to recognise a fox or a deer out to about 70–90 m, and to catch eyeshine further out. A little moonlight stretches that.
It's a digital sensor with its own light, not a thermal scope and not a military tube. That's why it costs what it does, records what it sees, and works in daylight too.
